Custom web design and development in Poole, Dorset
Digital Fracture builds CMS websites, ecommerce stores, and portfolio sites for small businesses and independent creatives across Poole, Bournemouth, and the wider Dorset area, and for clients further afield who want a UK-based studio that actually answers emails. Every site is hand-coded rather than pieced together from a drag-and-drop builder, which means pages load faster, Core Web Vitals scores stay green without a fight, and you aren't locked into a proprietary template system. Managed hosting, an SSL certificate, and a .co.uk or .com domain are included as standard, so there's just one predictable invoice instead of separate logins and renewals to juggle.
Why work with us
You work directly with the person doing the work, no middlemen. We're an independent UK studio, no outsourcing and no surprises, and we write clean code that stays fast and maintainable for the long term. Most web projects fail because someone added things that weren't necessary, so we start with the problem and build the minimum that solves it properly.
- Brief first. We understand your business, content, and goals before writing a single line of code.
- Build lean. No page builders, no plugin stacks, just clean, well-structured code that loads fast.
- Stay involved. We don't disappear after launch. Updates, questions, new features, we're here.
You choose the platform, we handle the build
We build on whichever platform actually suits the site. For most CMS-driven projects we reach for Joomla, because it handles multi-language, access control, and structured content without the plugin-stack fragility that tends to accrue around WordPress, and because we maintain our own suite of Joomla plugins (Retro Media Vault) that slot in where useful. WordPress is the right answer when an existing content team already knows it or the project needs a specific WooCommerce ecosystem. Static HTML is the right answer when the site doesn't need a CMS at all and the brief is really about speed and simplicity. We recommend based on what the site needs to do, not what we happen to have a template for.
