What this licence is

A perpetual, per-domain right to remove the "Powered by Nano [Product], Developed by Digital Fracture" footer attribution from the pages the Nano product renders on the licensed domain(s).

What this licence is not

It's not a licence for Nano CMS or Nano Cart themselves, both products are free and open-source under the MIT licence, and anyone can download, use, modify, and deploy them without payment. This licence only removes the footer attribution from the specific product you've purchased it for; the software stays free either way. Each Nano product has its own separate licence, a Nano CMS licence won't remove the footer on a Nano Cart deployment, and vice versa.

How verification works

Your licence key is a cryptographic signature generated using Ed25519. When the product renders a page, it checks the key against the embedded Digital Fracture public key and confirms the domain matches. The check runs locally, no phone-home, no telemetry, and no server we maintain that could go down, so your site keeps working forever even if Digital Fracture disappears. Verification adds about 50 microseconds per page load.

How licences are delivered

Licences are issued manually within 24 hours of purchase, usually within 1 to 2 hours during UK business hours. You'll receive an email with your signed licence key and install instructions (via the admin or a direct config edit). If your licence hasn't arrived after 24 hours, please get in touch via the contact form.

Localhost and development domains

The licence check is automatically skipped on localhost, 127.0.0.1, *.test, *.local, and any host with a port number, so you can develop and test without the footer appearing. It only renders on real production domains.

Moving domains

A licence is bound to the domain and product you provide at purchase. If you move your site to a different domain (for example from a .co.uk to a .com), get in touch and we'll re-issue it for the new domain at no charge. The licence covers the bare domain and its www variant; subdomains like shop.example.com are separate licences.

Refunds

We offer refunds within 14 days of purchase if the licence doesn't work as expected, get in touch with your licence ID. After 14 days the licence is yours forever and no refunds apply. Because keys remain cryptographically valid after refund (there's no revocation system in current versions), you agree not to use a refunded licence on your sites.

What you can and cannot do

You can

• Install your licensed Nano product on your client work.
• Transfer the licence between domains you own (with notice).
• Resell sites you've built that include licensed Nano products.

You cannot

• Share your licence key with other agencies or individuals.
• Resell licences themselves.
• Use a single-domain licence on multiple domains.
• Use an Agency 3-pack or Unlimited licence outside your own agency's work.
• Use a Nano CMS licence to remove the Nano Cart footer, or vice versa.

We rely on goodwill for the Unlimited tier, there's no technical restriction preventing misuse, but it would breach the licence terms.

If Digital Fracture stops trading

Your licence continues working forever. Verification is local and cryptographic, it doesn't depend on any Digital Fracture infrastructure staying online, and both products are open-source on GitHub and will remain available. Your investment is safe even in the worst case.

Licence support

We'll help with installing your licence key, domain-change requests, and replacement licences if you lose your original key. We won't provide installation support for Nano CMS or Nano Cart themselves (use each product's GitHub README), customise products for individual customers, or provide development support beyond the licence mechanism. What we collect

To issue your licence we need your email (for delivery), the domain(s) you're licensing, the product, and payment information (handled entirely by Stripe, we never see your card details). Records are kept for accounting and reissue, we don't share customer data with third parties, and we don't add you to mailing lists without consent. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
